Titles will include the .hack series, Gundam Seed, Princess Mononoke, Laputa, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Noir, My Neighbor Totoro, Chrono Cross, Xenosaga, Romeo x Juliet, and other memorable themes to name a few… And joining Eminence at Otakon as special guest of Honor, is a veteran, and one of the most worshiped composers of the video gaming and anime music world: Hitoshi Sakimoto, best known for his music from Final Fantasy XII, Final Fantasy Tactics and the new anime Romeo x Juliet. Mr Sakimoto will be at Eminence’s concert to hear his music performed, as well as to meet and greet the fans at Otakon. Hitoshi Sakimoto
Composer
Hitoshi Sakimoto is a veteran video game composer with almost 20 years experience to his credit. He began his career as a part time sound programmer and composer when companies saw potential in his skills. Some early major games he contributed to consisted of Magical Chase, Ogre Battle, Tactics Ogre and Treasure Hunter G. He also received his first massive project co-creating the soundtrack to Square’s Final Fantasy Tactics
After these titles, he joined Square in 1998, only composing the dark and complex music to Matsuno’s Vagrant Story before he left in 2000, becoming a freelancer once again. He formed his own company Basiscape in 2002 with his close colleagues and then composed the score to Breath of Fire V as well as composing the majority of the music to the game Legaia: Duel Saga amongst a number of others. Spanning the years 2003~2006, Sakimoto created the massive score to Final Fantasy XII as well as contributing to the Final Fantasy Tactics spin-off, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance. He also produced the score to the popular Konami game, Gradius V, as well as contributing to Atlus’ Stella Deus. In 2007, he will be scoring several games, including Bandai Namco’s Deltora Quest, Mistwalker’s ASH -Archaic Sealed Heat-, Odin Sphere, his first anime, Romeo x Juliet, from Gonzo, and will supervise the music to anticipated Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings.
